Our team sports are organized according to age and experience level. For example, students trying out for field hockey, volleyball, or water polo may be invited to join a varsity or junior varsity team, pursuant to each sport's or coach's specifications.

What is Required to Try Out?

High school students who are interested in playing sports during their time at St. Agnes Academy must undergo annual athletics physicals or submit pre-participation physical evaluations, as dictated by district policy.

Tryouts for fall sports at St. Agnes Academy are typically held during the first week of August, and students must submit their medical paperwork and liability release forms prior to trying out.

Student-athletes are also subject to an athletics fee of $150 per sport each school year, though this fee may be waived if they participate in more than two sports each term.

Students can expect to attend roughly three practices and two competitions each week during the season. Additional meets and tournaments may be scheduled on some Saturdays.

Practices, competitions, and off-season workouts are considered mandatory for all team members, so it is important for students and their families to have a solid understanding of the time commitment associated with participating in high school athletics prior to accepting a spot on a team.
