Looking for an all girls prep school that prioritizes the holistic health and wellness of its students? Learn how St. Agnes supports your daughter’s overall well-being.
A student’s time in high school often constitutes one of the most crucial periods in her development. Full of new and exciting academic, social, and emotional challenges, the high school experience provides students with unparalleled opportunities for growth and change.

At St. Agnes Academy, we understand the importance of creating a nurturing environment where students can thrive across all facets of their lives. As a premier all girls prep school in Houston, we prioritize not only academic success but the holistic development of each student.

With robust student support programs like college counseling to wellness programming, we are committed to empowering young women with the resources they need to achieve their full potential.

Today, we will share some key ways we care for your daughter through our support services.

Discover Personalized Support at Our All Girls Prep School

St. Agnes recognizes that each student’s path to success is unique. Subsequently, we offer comprehensive support services designed to provide your daughter with individualized care tailored to her needs.

Our support services focus on multiple developmental areas and take into account a variety of considerations related to each student’s academic and personal success. Let’s take a closer look at how each of our student support services serves the St. Agnes community.

The Wellness Center

The Wellness Center at St. Agnes provides ongoing programming centered around students’ physical and mental wellness. Through preventative programming, small group meetings, and individual counseling sessions, our wellness counselors provide students with life skills and self-care strategies to cope with the demands of high school and beyond.

Freshmen and sophomore students primarily receive academic advising from our Wellness Counselors. This support includes helping them plan courses, prepare for upper levels of study, and develop time and stress management skills to more easily navigate coursework.

The Wellness Center also offers various hands-on workshops on students’ physical and mental health to equip them with the information they need to stay safe and healthy throughout high school.

The Student Success Center

We recognize that all students learn differently and have different support needs. For students with documented disabilities and specific learning needs, the Student Success Center is responsible for providing students with the accommodations they need to thrive.

For example, specialists in this department work directly with students and their parents to implement accommodations and execute the agreed-upon service plans on a daily basis.

The Student Success team also helps students of all backgrounds and abilities hone their executive functioning and time management skills to gain independence and build self-confidence.

Our specialists also provide students with accessible resources and tools like organizational apps and planners to help them take a more active role in their academic and personal development.

College Counseling

For upper-level students, the College Counseling team is the primary source of academic advising and plays an integral role in students’ college preparation. In addition to offering standard academic advising, our college counselors provide the following support.
  • Individualized College Guidance: Counselors aid students with their college searches and application efforts to maximize their admissions prospects.
  • SAT/ACT Support: Students receive resources and advice to help them excel on standardized tests like the ACT and SAT, ensuring they are competitive candidates for admission at top colleges and universities.
  • Financial Aid Advising: The college counseling team can provide hands-on support for students and families looking to offset the cost of college through financial aid. For example, counselors can help families search for relevant scholarships and navigate the federal student aid application process (FAFSA).
The College Counseling Center equips students with a broad spectrum of knowledge, resources, and tools through one-on-one advising, parent meetings, and grade-wide workshops. This support helps families prepare for college and ensure future academic success.
