High school involvement at St. Agnes Academy is important to students academically and socially. By contributing to school projects and events, students learn about the importance of leadership, shape their passions, and form friendships with their peers.
Beyond academics and participating in extracurriculars, community involvement is important because it creates a sense of unity and sisterhood while also fostering an environment built on
Gospel values.

Importance of High School Involvement at St. Agnes

Personal Growth
Students engaging in different community projects and clubs can personally grow and foster connections with other students. The clubs and involvement activities the school offers will prepare students with the necessary skills and values to succeed.
Students also get to explore their interests – such as
sports – plus various clubs, activities, and student council. By increasing involvement in the community and completing more community service, it can improve academic performance. Students gain more knowledge outside of the classroom and use real-life application skills that could potentially improve their academics and test scores.
College Applications
By contributing to St. Agnes school activities and clubs, high school students gain important leadership knowledge that helps them build a strong college resume. These experiences are important to college admissions offices because they showcase a well-rounded student.

Leadership Roles
One way students can get personally involved in the St. Agnes community is through various leadership positions offered. Through student government, club presidency, or sports captains, opportunities are available for any hard-working student to achieve.
These opportunities allow students to foster their leadership and communication skills while also providing them with real-life applications. Leadership positions, especially in student government, allow other students to enjoy fun aspects of high school, such as pep rallies and donut giveaways.
By either applying to positions or networking, any student can tap into the opportunity to take a leadership position.
Following Personal Interests
Students can join various clubs or sports that interest them to foster their personal growth and interests. They are allowed to explore the many opportunities St. Agnes offers that correspond to their personal preferences.
For example, students are encouraged to continue fostering interests from middle school and explore beyond. If students cannot find any clubs or extracurriculars that interest them, they are encouraged to start their own club to inspire themselves and other students.
Participating in clubs allows students to befriend other students with similar interests and passions to build a fresh community. Many clubs offered at St. Agnes were founded by a group of girls with the same curiosity about a topic. Here are a few examples from the current clubs available:

By contributing to the activities listed above, the students at Sr. Agnes create a welcoming and fun environment. The school spirit in pep rallies and games is inspiring and fueled by the sense of community and sisterhood present in the halls.
There is a strong sense of friendship and the use of teamwork, which is important not only in the function of the school, but also teaches students the importance of collaboration. It prepares students for college and beyond.
How to Balance Student Involvement with Academics

Scheduling Planners
Students are encouraged to use the provided scheduling planners and agendas to plan out their workload and keep a balance with extracurricular involvement. We also encourage students to attend the many planning and organizational meetings that counseling provides to decrease stress and anxiety for busy students.
By providing an option for students to increase organizational abilities and foster confidence in their
academics, St. Agnes allows students to be involved in more activities to their fullest abilities.
Passion and Interest Projects
Students should be involved with clubs and extracurricular activities that interest them because they will put more value into their work and prioritize those activities. By focusing on specific topics of interest, students gain more knowledge about the topic and are more likely to support and contribute.
These passion projects boost school community and involvement while helping students develop leadership and communication skills.
